Long day at work? Relaxation Information:
Posted by Scotty Wood on September 2nd, 2007
Some days are just longer than others.
All you want to do when you get home is anything but what you’ve been doing the whole day. It was a long day at the office, gear shop, coffee shop, wherever. Doesn’t matter where you spent your day earning the big bucks, we could all use a little rest and relaxation! Here are a few ideas to help decompress (Happy Labor Day, by the way!):
- Tube Float. Grab a Tube from Big O tires, it’s like $15 bucks, grabs some PBRs, Grab some friends. Float the creek. (Don’t trespass, though. Creek residents don’t want tubers on their property.)
- Go Camping on a weeknight. Shadow Mountain and Jackson Peak are great options, even your backyard is great.
- The classic BBQ. Invite some friends over. Grab some PBRs. Throw some meat on a grill (or veggie burgers).
- Brawwwwpub. How could you deny that putting some beers down with your friends isn’t relaxing.
- Outdoor movie night. Snow King is getting ready to start their outdoor series. Movies on the Mountain
- Bike polo. Get your buddies together and just try it. You’ll see.
- Hang at the Wilson beach. Just like the real thing, but colder.
- Mountain bike Teton Pass. There’s been some great trail development up the pass, go check it out. friendsofpathways.org
- Watch a movie from your car at the Spud drive-in. Need I say more, it’s the SPUD! (208)354-2727 www.spuddrivein.com
- Music, Arts and Entertainment. Go check out the J-List, all the up to date info on what’s happenin’ in this town. www.the-j-list.com

Great post Scott, these are just fabulous ideas. Fly fishing on flat creek is always one of my favorite activities to burn off some steam.
Gotta love the tube floats! Fish Creek is still running good, although Flat creeks is a little… flat!
Additions for bbq? Bocce, croquet, and my recent personal favorite, ladder golf
