Fly Fishing: Red Gold
We’ll end today with Best Overall film. Produced by the Felt Soul Media tandem of Travis Rummel and Ben Knight, they’ve taken top honors two years in a row. Their film “Running Down the Man” - a must see at their website www.feltsoulmedia.com - won best overall film last year as well.Note: Although we didn’t get to show all 10 films that made the cut, you can view them at The Drake magazine website: www.drakemag.com.
A few words from Travis on Red Gold:
“Our film Red Gold, attempts to tell the story behind the staggering Bristol Bay sockeye fishery and the proposed Pebble Mine that threatens this incredible resource. Spending time with commercial, subsistence and sport fishermen in the region this past summer we were amazed by the beauty of the people and the landscape of Bristol Bay.
Red Gold will attempt to answer the question which is a more valuable resource: the renewable and self sustaining run of salmon or the $300 billion dollars worth of mineralization at the proposed site?
