Not a Post: Tomorrow is Here

Posted by Lauren on December 31st, 2007

Whether you want to ski powder every day or become a real estate mogul, 2008 is YOUR YEAR!

Tomorrow is the weightiest tomorrow. It’s the tomorrow of “I’ll start my diet tomorrow” or “pay off my credit card tomorrow” or “become a better friend tomorrow.” Tomorrow is it: The First of the Year.

If your own personal goals aren’t inspiring or guilting you into action for 2008, try the following sites. They’re fun, inspirational and might even get you off your butt, out of your old patterns and into something new, like writing a novel, making a surf movie or becoming a better person.

Happy New Year!!

43 Things: An online forum for goal-setters to post 43 goals, report on their progress and get support from other people starting their own lists TODAY.

Popular New Year’s Resolutions: The US Government’s list of the 13 most popular resolutions, not for itself, but for its people.

Check out Forbes’ list of 10 things to do before you die. Or, expand it to 100 things. Hopefully you’ll have more years than just 2008 to complete the checklist. But, still. Start today.

Romantics and dreamers who want their intentions to soar off into the universe on little pieces of colorful paper can write them on a piece of confetti that will be released TONIGHT at 12 a.m. Eastern Time onto the streets of Manhattan. Check it out.  It’s free(!) and if you’re in the mountains instead of the city, you can do it virtually.

Thanks to everyone for supporting The Mountain Culture’s inaugural year.

We promise to get better and better … starting tomorrow!

S’cuze me, can I get some snow please.

Yum... powder.

Like every diehard snow slider, I’ve been praying for snow. I know, I know, everybody is saying the same lame thing, “Dude, pray for snow”, but it must be working because the past week has been incredible. I got a nice 15″ Christmas day at Grand Targhee, I’ve heard numerous Jacksonites claiming they’ve had better powder days in the past week than they had all last season! So this is a good thing, keep it up! Keep Praying!

Delinquent Elves Cause Ruckus in Jackson Hole

Save the Elves

In what can only be described as a growing problem for the citizens of Jackson Hole, Elves are running rampant in our community in ever increasing numbers. Community leaders have been at their wits’ end trying to figure out a solution to set these wayward elves straight. Fortunately for the town, our good friends over at Circumerro have taken the initiative to find a solution to this problem.

Silver Screen: Steep

Posted by Chad Jackson on December 20th, 2007

Ski and snowboard films have become a staple for most mountain towners. These films are a way for people to get fired up about the ski season and to inspire them to get after it. They are visual works of art with music that stir the emotions and showcase the progression of the sports. They are, well…sick! Unfortunately, many of the films lack much of a storyline. There is nothing wrong with a hard-hitting film that shows the best of the best. I love them, but it seems that these mountain towners have been looking for a little bit more lately. Read More »

Could be mistaken for the Night Sky Screensaver.

When it comes to Cardio Whore hierarchy, Anna Davis is the queen and I am a princess. Or maybe a Lady in Waiting. Read More »

Party Report: Bozeman Prom

Posted by Carolyn Gorski on December 18th, 2007

We look good. Damn good.

Two weekends ago I headed up to Bozeman with an eager crew of Jackson kids on a mission: Not to shred, not to party with co-eds in Montana State dorms but to attend one of the best nostalgic events in our lives: The Bozeman Adult Prom.
