Ode to the ’stash

The Stash
“I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious.”
- Vince Lombardi

Ummm, yeah. From late November until the first of January the Teton chapter of mustache growers fought the good fight. Day after day they let the stashes flourish, fighting through challenges large and small to reach the goal. They endured the ridicule of co-workers, strong resistance from the opposite sex and skepticism from the local community. Perseverance paid off for the mighty men who stood for what they believed, as their co-workers began to look up to the stash growers as mentors. Even more impressively, the hardy mountain women couldn’t be kept away, the stashes drawing them in like moths to the flame.

Ummm, yeah. The community now considers these guys hero’s and upright citizens, while those who exited the challenge early are known as “untouchables,” as they mope around the office with their defeatist attitudes and bare upper lips. Those who finished the challenge can now lie victorious on the field of battle, knowing that they worked their hearts out for Wyoming’s kids that face a challenge no mustache or mustache grower will ever endure. The kids that “Make A Wish Foundation” supports are the true hero’s and we all can learn a lesson about not giving up and fighting from these brave kids.

Ummm, yeah.

Actually both are accepted spellings. But for the exciting news, pledges are still floating in with an estimated total raised approaching 2k. We’ll publish the exact amount once its final. Special thanks to all the stalwart supporters of the Mountain Stache of the Tetons’ first growing season.
