Posted by Arty on August 26th, 2008

Stop by Cloudveil’s flagship retail store this week for for screamin’ deals and hip art.

First, pick up all the End of Summer Sale items of Inspired Mountain Clothing you can fit in your reusable bag, then peruse the inspired art created by skier artist Lynsey Dyer.

If you show up Wednesday between 5 and 7 p.m., you can also sample wine, cheese and Snake River Brews at Dyer’s art opening.

Check out the following release from the artist herself and enjoy the colors of the clothes and the swirling, gorgeous graphic art.

“As a local with a strong connection to the out doors, Lynsey Dyer has combined her passions as an artist, photographer and athlete to bring the magic of nature to life on paper.

Lynsey makes being outside and creating environmental awareness a priority in all aspects of her life. Staying true to those values, you may recognize her as an athlete in ski films from companies such as Teton Gravity Research and Warren Miller over the past five years. That
or you may have seen her art as the poster for the Jackson Hole Film Festival or in stickers representing her non-profit.

“You can get lost in your work,” she says about art, “where all of a sudden you are so in the moment and you feed off that. And that carries over to anything you get pleasure out of, those things that light you up.”

In appreciation of the mountains and a commitment to sharing that positive energy with others, Lynsey has also co-founded SheJumps.org, a non-profit community inviting girls and women to challenge themselves in the outdoors in order to reach their full potential. While her skiing has taken her all over the world, Lynsey has a degree in graphic design and spent time studying and printmaking in Italy. From wedding photography to illustrations, her work can be seen in everything from posters and advertisements to t-shirt and ski design to greeting cards. While her wedding photography and family portraiture has received great reviews a few larger clients include: Rossignol, Solomon, and Ski Racing and Freeskier magazines.

See more of her art and photography at her website butteryellow.com (her favorite color) and be sure to check out SheJumps.org as well!
